Feeding on Manna

musings, reflections, updates

So I’m a lot slower at this than I’d like…

Posted on October 3, 2025 By David Sibley

For folks who are following along, I have a big backlog of posts from our journey – then days have been filled with incredible natural beauty and wonder…

…but it leads to a need for rest.

I hope to be posting a backlog tonight as I sit in the laundromat, but in the meantime, you can browse photos from our journey online – I’ve been posting on my Flickr page at flickr.com/sibleydc.

Thanks for your forebearance…

See! the streams of living waters,
springing from eternal love,
well supply thy sons and daughters
and all fear of want remove.
Who can faint, when such a river
ever will their thirst assuage?
Grace which, like the Lord, the giver
never fails from age to age.

Round each habitation hovering,
see the cloud and fire appear
for a glory and a covering,
showing that the Lord is near.
Thus deriving from their banner,
light by night, and shade by day,
safe they feed upon the manna
which he gives them when they pray.

John Newton (1725-1807)
